University Council of Technical University of Darmstadt

According to section 6 of the Hessen Law on the autonomy of TU Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt-Gesetz), the University Council has a right of initiative on fundamental matters, particularly regarding the university development. In addition, it exercises regulatory functions.

The University Council consists of 10 external members as well as one representative of the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and the Arts who is a permanent guest. The members of the Council are appointed by the Hessian state government. The Technical University of Darmstadt has the right to nominate half of the members.
