Workshop with external peers – discussion and consultation on structural issues for the further development of the ZfL

In the context of the institutional evaluation of the Centre for Teacher Education in 2025, a full-day workshop with external peers led by Prof. Dr. Julia Gillen (Leibniz University Hannover) was held on 8 July 2025 with the Executive Board, the ZfL Directorate, the ZfL office and representatives of the ZfL General Assembly on the structural development of the Centre for Teacher Education.
During the day, topics such as the structure of the Centre for Teacher Education regarding roles at management level, decision processes and coordination processes with departments were discussed.
Following this, the external peers will prepare a report by August 2025 with their recommendations on the topics discussed in the workshop, the challenges identified, and recommended measures. Based on this, the further development process of the Centre for Teacher Education will be continued under the leadership of the Vice President for Studies, Teaching and Diversity. As part of this process, an agreement on objectives for the ZfL is to be concluded between the Executive Board and the ZfL Board of Directors by the end of 2025 in the context of the institutional evaluation.
