What type of author’s declaration do co-authors need to submit?

Candidates are able to submit an article thesis when allowed to do so by the special provisions of the relevant faculty.

If co-authorship is permitted for an article thesis, a declaration must be appended to the thesis when submitted to the deanery. This declaration must enable assessors to determine the candidate’s performance based on clearly defined criteria. The purpose of this declaration is to specifically identify each authors’ contribution. The part of the thesis for which the doctoral candidate is responsible must be explicitly stated.

Who needs to submit the declaration?

  • all co-authors of the doctoral thesis
  • academic supervisors
  • doctoral candidates
