Electoral office

The Electoral Office is responsible for the preparation and organisation of university elections, staff council elections, JAV elections, elections for representatives of the severely disabled, elections for the student assistant council and elections for the German Research Foundation. We also accept resignations from university committees and carry out the procedure for nominating successors. If you require a certificate of your committee activity, we will be happy to issue one for you.

Actual Elections

IThe 2024 university elections will take place electronically during the election period from 10 June 2024, 12:00 noon to 17 June 2024, 12:00 noon. The student members of the University Assembly and the faculty councils as well as the student members of the joint commissions of the study areas, the student parliament and the student councils will be newly elected.

At its meeting on 11 December 2023, the election committee decided on the following schedule:

The submission of election proposal lists – including all associated documents – is possible until 26.04.2024, 16:00. Election proposal lists including all associated documents (proposal list, annex to the proposal list, declarations of consent from all candidates) may only be submitted as one document in pdf format by the person authorised to represent the list. Submission in paper form is still possible.

In May 2024, the members of the Staff Council and the members of the youth and trainee representatives will be newly elected. At its meeting on 29 February 2024, the election committee adopted the following election notices:

The election of the Staff Council at TU Darmstadt will take place on 14 and 15 May 2024 as a ballot box election in the lecture hall of the University and State Library at Magdalenenstraße 8, in the Building S1|20, R.01 (basement of the ULB next to the “LesBAR”) and in the foyer of the Lecture Hall and Media Centre on Lichtwiese from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm. Detailed information can be found in the election notice and your personal election notification. If you are eligible to vote, you will receive your personal election notification in paper form at your official address by the end of April 2024 at the latest. Postal voting is possible on application to the electoral office. Please use the following form for this purpose:

In accordance with § 97 (7) of the Hessian Staff Representation Act (HPVG), a student assistant council is to be elected at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

The election of the Student Assistant Council took place from 27 February 2024 to 4 March 2024 as an electronic election with the option of postal voting on request.
The term of office of the members of the Student Assistant Council begins on 1 April 2024 and ends on 31 March 2025.

All persons who are employed as student assistants at TU Darmstadt at the time of submitting the election proposal are eligible to vote (eligible to stand for election).

The submission of election proposal lists was possible until Friday, 12.01.2024, 16:00. At its meeting on 16 January 2024, the election committee approved the following list of nominations for the election of the Student Assistant Council:

The election of review board members of the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the term of office 2024 – 2028 took place from 23 October 2023 to 20 November 2023.

The overall voter turnout is 36.5 %. The voter turnout at the Technical University of Darmstadt is 44.98 %.

The 2023 University Elections took place electronically during the election period from June 12, 2023 to June 19, 2023.

During this period, the election portal was accessible to all eligible voters via the following link: https://www-cgi.hrz.tu-darmstadt.de/wahl/

The members of the University Assembly and the departmental councils as well as the student members of the joint commissions of the study areas, the student parliament and the departmental councils were newly elected.

Elections of scientific and administrative-technical members of the directorates in the institutes were uniformly decentralized and are conducted by the institutes themselves on a decentralized basis.
