Electoral office

The Electoral Office is responsible for the preparation and organisation of university elections, staff council elections, JAV elections, elections for representatives of the severely disabled, elections for the student assistant council and elections for the German Research Foundation. We also accept resignations from university committees and carry out the procedure for nominating successors. If you require a certificate of your committee activity, we will be happy to issue one for you.

Actual Elections

IThe 2024 university elections will take place electronically during the election period from 10 June 2024, 12:00 noon to 17 June 2024, 12:00 noon. The student members of the University Assembly and the faculty councils as well as the student members of the joint commissions of the study areas, the student parliament and the student councils will be newly elected.

At its meeting on 11 December 2023, the election committee decided on the following schedule:

The election announcement, which contains all detailed information on the 2024 university elections, is expected to be adopted on 14 March 2024 and published subsequently.

The submission of lists of candidates – including all associated documents – is possible until 26 April 2024, 16:00. The forms of the electoral office must be used for this purpose. These can be found below:

In accordance with § 97 (7) of the Hessian Staff Representation Act (HPVG), a student assistant council is to be elected at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

At its meeting on 23 November 2023, the election committee decided on the schedule and the election announcement for the election of the student assistant council. Both documents can be found below:

All persons who are employed as student assistants at TU Darmstadt at the time of submitting the election proposal are eligible to vote (eligible to stand for election).

The submission of election proposal lists was possible until Friday, 12.01.2024, 16:00. At its meeting on 16 January 2024, the election committee approved the following list of nominations for the election of the Student Assistant Council:

All persons who are employed as student assistants at TU Darmstadt on election day are eligible to vote (active voting right).

The election of the Student Assistant Council will take place during the election period from 27 February 2024, 12:00 noon, to 4 March 2024, 12:00 noon, as an electronic election with the option of postal voting upon request. It was possible to apply for postal voting documents until 16 February 2024, 3:00 pm.

The following information is aimed exclusively at student assistants who were hired after the electoral roll was drawn up – cut-off date 9 February 2024:

If you were hired as a student assistant after the electoral roll for the upcoming election was drawn up, you will have the opportunity to exercise your right to vote exclusively by postal vote until the end of the election period.

To do so, you must submit an application for postal voting to the Electoral Office of Technische Universität Darmstadt in order to receive postal voting documents. Please use the following form to apply for your postal voting documents:

You have the opportunity to apply for postal voting documents until the end of the election period. Voting by postal ballot is possible until 4 March 2024, 12:00 noon. The election letter must be received by the electoral office (room S1|03, 351) by this time. Details of the postal voting procedure are explained on the ballot paper sent to you.

A copy of your employment contract as a student assistant must be enclosed with your postal voting application as proof of your eligibility to vote and sent to the Electoral Office:

The election of review board members of the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the term of office 2024 – 2028 took place from 23 October 2023 to 20 November 2023.

The 2023 University Elections took place electronically during the election period from June 12, 2023 to June 19, 2023.

During this period, the election portal was accessible to all eligible voters via the following link: https://www-cgi.hrz.tu-darmstadt.de/wahl/

The members of the University Assembly and the departmental councils as well as the student members of the joint commissions of the study areas, the student parliament and the departmental councils were newly elected.

Elections of scientific and administrative-technical members of the directorates in the institutes were uniformly decentralized and are conducted by the institutes themselves on a decentralized basis.
