With the institutional evaluation, TU Darmstadt pursues the goal to support the ongoing strategic development of the university as a whole and on the levels of departments, central services and central administration as well as to promote quality assurance and enhancement. The results of the institutional evaluation are summarised in an agreement on objectives between the Executive Board and the evaluated unit, which is intended to provide medium-term planning reliability.
The institutional evaluation comprises four phases:
- Self-evaluation and report
- Review by an external evaluation committee
- Agreement on objectives between Executive Board and unit
- Implementation and monitoring
The (continued) development of the degree programms at the TU Darmstadt follows the assessment by an external evaluation committee.
The institutional evaluation is carried out every six to eight years.
